BASIC BRIDAL BEAUTY ROUTINES TO LOOK YOUR BEST ON YOUR BIG DAY
July 18, 2018
Your big day is coming up and we’re sure, like most brides-to-be, you’re hoping to look your best on your wedding day. After all, it’s the one day you should feel absolutely confident and you’ll be looking back at your wedding pictures for many years to come.
Here are a few beauty routines you can put in place now, so you can walk down the aisle feeling like a princess:
EAT FOR HEALTH & VITALITY
Beauty starts from the inside, so now is the time to make sure that you’re getting all the nutrition your body needs to function optimally. You don’t have to follow a starvation diet, simply avoid processed foods and refined carbs, and fill your plate with colourful, seasonal fruits and veggies, lean protein and complex fibre. While you’re at it, remember to drink plenty of water – it flushes your system, plumps up your skin cells and keeps your body running like clockwork.
TOP TIP: Get savvy about superfoods. Dietary marvels like almonds, blueberries, spinach, bananas, and natural yoghurt pack a mean nutritional punch without adding too many calories – score!
DON’T BURN THE MIDNIGHT OIL
We realise that the lead up to a wedding is a really busy, stressful time, but you need to make a point of getting your beauty rest. The ideal is 7-8 hours of quality sleep per night, but if your schedule is too hectic to allow for that, you need to consider a few cat naps or a power siesta throughout the course of the day. Sufficient sleep boosts your immune system, which results in clearer skin, stronger hair and better health in general.
TOP TIP: A minimum of 20 minutes of moderate exercise per day aids restful sleep. You don’t need to run up a mountain to enjoy the benefits – simply take a nice walk at the end of the day or put on some tunes and lift a few weights in the living room to get your heart rate up.
GET ON TOP OF YOUR GROOMING
In the lead up to the wedding, you may want to consider regular sessions with your beautician to shape your brows, get a deep-cleaning facial, remove any unwanted body hair and get your cuticles in tip-top shape. This not only gives you plenty of time to address any issues before the big day but is also a nice little self-pampering indulgence to keep you relaxed.
These are just a few of the ways in which you can ensure that you look and feel your best on your big day.

At Date Night Ideas, our crew of hopeless romantics get collectively weak at the knees when you mention the word ‘wedding’. After all, is there anything more gloriously romantic than a special occasion where two people vow to have each other’s backs for the rest of their lives? From rustic barn weddings and swanky shindigs in top-dollar hotels, to beachside bashes and destination occasions, weddings come in many shapes and sizes. In this year’s DNI Wedding Edition
, we share some of our favourite venues, service providers and offer a bit of helpful advice in the lead-up to the big day.
“No matter what has happened. No matter what you’ve done. No matter what you will do. I will always love you.
I swear it.”
––Defiance by C.J. Redwine
“I wanted to tell you that wherever I am, whatever happens, I’ll always think of you, and the time we spent
together, as my happiest time. I’d do it all over again, if I had the choice. No regrets.”

“And in her smile I see something more beautiful than the stars.”
––Across the Universe by Beth Revis
“It’s one thing to fall in love. It’s another to feel someone else fall in love with you, and to feel a
responsibility toward that love.”

––The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson
“I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things.
I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable,
and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and
I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
––The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
“I never loved you any more than I do, right this second. And I’ll never love you any less than I do,
right this second.”
––Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl
“Sometimes I can’t see myself when I’m with you. I can only just see you.”
––Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
“I am catastrophically in love with you.”
––Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
“I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn’t
something about you at all. It was just you.”
––Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
