HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR GARDEN AS A COUPLE
June 16, 2019
These days, having a garden is such a privilege that it almost seems like sacrilege to let your outdoor spaces go to waste if you’re lucky enough to live in a home with a yard. As such, we always recommend that couples with gardens find fun ways to make use of their gardens, so they can get the most out of these incredible spaces.
Here are a few tips to get you inspired to use your garden space:
CREATE AN ENTERTAINMENT AREA
As much fun as it is to hang around in camping chairs or lounge on a picnic blanket when your friends come over, having a dedicated outdoor entertainment space makes it a whole lot more convenient to invite guests. When you have your level floor space, braai area and shading solutions all ready to go, all you need to do is get the fire going and put out a few snacks. Invest a little time and effort into upgrading your outdoor entertainment space and you’ll quickly see how much time you spend out there.
KEEP THE WEEDS IN CHECK
You know what sucks? A garden overrun with weeds. We’re all busy and we don’t always have the time to keep a close eye on every inch of our properties, but when you make the effort to keep your lawns and beds weed-free with the use of innovative herbicides you’ll be far more likely to invite your friends to join you in the garden, or head out there to soak up the sun yourselves.
PLANT A FOOD GARDEN
Flower beds are such a treat, but if you really want to put your garden to good use, start growing some food. There is something very gratifying about growing something and being able to walk out into your garden to pick it fresh off the plant when you’re preparing a meal. It really connects you with your food. Start small, with a few herbs like coriander, basil and thyme, and see how quickly the gardening bug bites!
