HOW TO MAKE THOSE HEADACHES DISAPPEAR AND REINVIGORATE YOUR LOVE LIFE
November 22, 2018
As everyone in a marriage or a long-term relationship will be able to tell you (usually with a frown and a few sighs thrown in the mix), the human sex drive can be a fickle thing. At the start of a relationship it’s all fireworks and action (if not, run!), but once you get comfortable with one another and develop a sustainable routine as a couple, things tend to even out a little.
This is not always bad – in fact, it shows you’re in a normal, healthy relationship – but it can be a little disappointing when the passion flame starts to waver behind closed doors. This is normally when those mysterious headaches start to appear and it’s too cold to take your clothes off all of a sudden. Luckily, it’s not the end of all things naughty and delicious. Not by a long shot.
We’re here to tell you that it is fully possible to reinvigorate your love life (and it doesn’t even have to involve spanking or a dildo if you don’t want to!). Here are a few ways to get the ball rolling:
ADDRESS YOUR OWN SH*T
First things first, what’s up with you? Start with the things you can control. How’s your health? Everything okay under the hood? If you’re not feeling 100%, perhaps it’s time for a check-up. You could have low blood sugar, high blood pressure, a thyroid issue or some other minor ailment that could be dampening your mood. Suck it up and ask your physician to take a look.
On the other hand, you may have gained a little weight and that could be making you feel self-conscious in the bedroom. If that’s the case, it might be time to go for a walk and cut down on the refined sugars. Take it one step at a time and don’t be hard on yourself. It’s all a process.
CHECK IN WITH YOUR PARTNER
Stop hinting and assuming. Sure, it’s a little awkward to initiate a conversation about your flagging sex life, but it’s best to face this kind of thing head on. Really talk to your partner for a change. Drop the façade, level with them and ask them whether something is bothering them. Open the communication channels, see what’s up and make a plan to address it.
CHILL OUT & RELAX
Once all of that is squared away, it’s time to chill the hell out about it. Sex is not supposed to be serious. I mean, have you seen a penis? Real-life, un-airbrushed sex is sweaty, messy and often awkward as hell. People fall off the bed, fart at weird times and get really into some pretty funny stuff. Roll with it and don’t put too much pressure on yourselves to do it perfectly. What’s perfect anyway? Sure, you can throw some expensive lingerie in the mix and try the scented candle approach, but often the thing that is needed is just a good old-fashioned roll in the hay. A classic, fumbling shag of the first order. Let it all hang out, baby!
In short, take heart. Fan the flames a little, give your partner some TLC, get inventive and get your groove back. When you love a person, you should be able to roll with the punches and reassess your approach to the relationship as a whole every now and again. It takes a little work, but that’s what makes it worth it!

I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
