TRUE MEANING OF LOVE
October 19, 2017
“A strong relationship requires choosing to love each other even in those moments when you struggle to like each other.”
Love is so many things. It is kind and patient, it is passion and longing. Love is sacrificing that what you knew for that which you want. It is looking past each other’s flaws. Love is service; it is splitting the household tasks, raising the children together and carrying the responsibility of your love on both your shoulders. Love is spending quality time together. Love is showing your appreciation for your partner and everything they do. Love is buying flowers and ties. It is ironing his shirt or washing the dishes without her asking you to.
Love is silly. It is having fun with love, in love and with each other. Love is giving up on fear and finding the courage to pursue it with all your heart. Love is carrying each other through the bad times. Love is communicating your feelings, issues and everyday mundane things to your partner. Love is affectionate and showing what you feel through touch and surprise kisses. Love is telling the truth, even if it hurts you to do so. Love is believing in each other’s dreams. Love changes you for the better. Love helps you give each other space to grow.
Love is a privilege and a responsibility. Above all else, Love is a gift.
Love forms a marriage, but there are five simple things that can carry your marriage through to the finish line. A good marriage is created, it is hard work. It is choosing to stay and fix what is broken, rather than throwing it away when times get tough. Relationships, especially good ones, take effort. You have to pour your whole heart and soul into it. But we promise the end result is breath-taking.
1. You are never too old to hold your partner's hand.
2. Say “I love you” at least once a day and mean it.
3. Never go to bed angry, you never know what the morning brings.
4. Stand together, as a team, to face the world.
5. Forgive and forget. Do not let old arguments have any hold in the present.
It is not only marrying the right person, it is being the right partner. The hierarchy should always be your Religion, your Partner, your Children and then Others. When your priorities are straight, your marriage will flourish.
Never forget Real Men do Date Night. Having a date night once a month can save your relationship. Be sure to take charge of the situation, handle every detail of the date. Book the restaurant, buy flowers and pitch up in your best suit. All she has to do is worry about what to wear. It is about making her feel like your top priority.
