PLAYFUL DATE IDEAS IN JOHANNESBURG
June 20, 2017
Keen to get out and about in Johannesburg this weekend, but not feeling all that flush? No worries! Our crew has rustled up a few fabulously fun outings in the City of Gold that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Here goes!
GO SWIMMING AT THE ZOO LAKE POOL
The mercury is rising and there is nothing quite like a trip to Zoo Lake Pool pool
to remind you of those care-free childhood holidays. At a mere R12 a pop, this outing is as affordable as it comes. Who knows, you might just be able to splurge on a lekker ice lolly as well! Remember to pack sunscreen and arrive early so you can get a nice spot in the shade to set up camp for the day. Not close to the Zoo Lake Pool? Here are a few other public swimming pools
in Johannesburg that might be in your vicinity.
WALK AMONG LIVING HISTORY IN JOZI CBD
At between R130 and R260 per tour, Past Experiences walking tours
may not be the cheapest on our list, but you sure do get a lot of bang for your buck on this one! An urban hike through Jozi's CBD may seem like a dodgy prospect, but is in fact one of the most fascinating experiences you can imagine. The company offers a variety of themed tours that range from the birth of Johannesburg as a mining town to graffiti, shopping and photography. Past Experiences also offer monthly budget tours, so get in touch to find out what's on the log.
HIKE ALONG THE HENNOPS RIVER
Lace up those tekkies and head outdoors for a hike along the Hennops River. The Hennops Hiking Trail
clocks in at R60 per person (bargain!) There are two main hikes that are suitable for people of reasonable fitness, and a shorter one for folks who have kids in tow. Best of all, there's a swimming pool at the end of the trail so you can cool your heels when you're done. Oh, and it's gorgeous! You won't be able to comprehend that you're only 45 minutes from Sandton.
We don’t know about you, but we are extremely excited to try out these affordable date ideas! Do you have any fun & affordable Johannesburg outings up your sleeve? Sharing is caring! Let us know
so we can spread the love.
