Here's ten things for you to do at Van Loveren Family Vineyards, well apart from tasting their vast selection of great wines.
1. Choose From 8 Pairing Options
Have fun learning how food compliments wine by enjoying a selections of platters, pairing their products with interesting nibbles. From wine and chocolate, to wine and locally produced Charcuterie, to the Master tasting which includes a pairing with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and homemade dukkah amongst other interesting pairings. They also have non-alcoholic pairings for both adults and children.
2. Mountain Bike Trails
Try out their mountain bike trails for every level of skill, including for families. They have 12, 20, 31 and 35 km trails with great views. No bike? No problem, you can rent a bike for the day.
3. Take a Hike
With vast natural areas relatively untouched, the Fish Eagle hiking trail on the farm offers the ideal way to explore and see some of the Cape's finest examples of rare fauna and flora. The 7.5km biodiversity trail features informative signage. It includes two river crossings, panoramic views, plenty of picture hotspots.
4. Bird Watching
As many as 100 bird species can be spotted in a day along their safe and peaceful birding route. Senior citizens will find the walk easy-going as there are no obstructions or steep inclines. The summer months are best for bird-watching.
5. Child-friendly Winery
The winery at Van Loveren is child friendly, so bring along the little ones.

All the trees at Van Loveren were planted to mark special historical, political and family moments in time. Take a tour of the garden to find out more about the vineyards deep history.

8. Eat at Christina’s Bistro
We suggest stopping in for a bite to eat at Christina's Bistro. Highlights include thin cut pizzas, home-made juicy burgers, freshly squeezed juices, cheese cake and Crème Brulee and Van Loveren wines of course. All items on their menu are made from scratch, right there. They pride themselves on using local produce, keeping their food-miles to a minimum.
