SEGWAY TRIPS THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND
November 30, 2017
At Date Night Ideas, we’re always on the lookout for fun couples’ activities – you know, something special for anniversaries or just something really fun to look forward to over a weekend. This is how we stumbled upon the notion of Segway tours, and we can’t get enough of it!
A Segway is a two-wheeled, self-balancing personal transportation device. I.e. a fancy upright scooter that allows you to zip around looking like a member of the Jetsons. Then a few clever people realised that it can be used to conduct all sorts of awesome tours that would normally require a bit of a hike. Here are a few of our favourite South African Segway tours to inspire your next adventure!
SPIER WINE FARM
Spier Wine Farm in the Cape Winelands offers a range of Segway tours
that take you around the farm and through the vineyards to see where the magic happens. Gliding along on the Segway means you can see a lot more of the expansive farm that you would be able to if you set out on foot. Plus, there’s a sunset tour option that allows you to see the vineyards at dusk – just gorgeous!
Tsitsikamma Segway tours
are a wonderful way to explore the Garden Route. Leaving from Tsitsikamma Backpackers, these tours include 20-minute training session to acquaint you with the vehicle, a journey through Stormsriver Village, and an able along one of a selection of routes through cool pine forests, indigenous forests, and even the historical Witteklip bridge or local township. There are also two-hour tours available that take you all the way to the 1000-year-old Tsitsikamma BIG Tree.
MOSES MABHIDA STADIUM
The Segway tours at Moses Mabhida Stadium
are a superb option for visitors who want to learn more about this famous structure in Durban. Glide effortlessly in and around the stadium, stopping for picture-perfect photo opportunities. Experience the majesty and sheer engineering genius of this world-renowned landmark.
These are just a few of the fun Segway tours
you can do throughout South Africa. The things couples do for fun may not seem all that important, but how you choose to spend your down time for your loved ones can make or break a relationship. Remember to make time for silly adventures with your partner – it’s the stuff you’ll look back on and reminisce about in years to come.
