24 September 2016 is National Heritage Day (affectionately known as Braai day) and throughout the country, patriotic South Africans are getting ready to celebrate their unique culture, customs, and traditions. TAKE PART IN A POTJIESKOS CHALLENGE IN NOORDHOEK
The Farm Village in Noordhoek
is playing host to a fiery potjiekos competition. that will be judged by Chefs Franck Dangereux and Pete Goffe-Wood. But you don't have to take part to join in the fun - contestants present their entries at 3pm, after which guests can sample 10+ styles of potjiekos for R100p/p. Best of all? The proceeds of the competition go to the Open Door Project feeding scheme
, so you'll be contributing to a good cause to boot.
ROCK OUT AT THE LIVE LOUD MUSIC CONCERT
National radio station 5FM is hosting one of Cape Town's biggest music festivals at Kenilworth Race Course on Saturday 24 September. The Live Loud concerts will span 13 hours and feature the talents of local stars like Black Coffee, Al Bairre, Goodluck, aKing, Gangs of Ballet, Dirty Skirts, Desmond & The Tutus and Matthew Mole. This outing is a tad pricey at R295 a pop, but you'll be getting a lot of bang for your hard-earned buck. Tickets are available from Computicket.
